August 2009 Reading Challenge

Pizza's Book Discussion is hosting the August Reading Challenge to see who reads the most books in August. Of course I'm not expecting to win, but it's an interesting motivator nonetheless to see how many of my review books I can get done in August.

Thank you to J. Kaye for reminding me about this one!

Update: I just read Pizza's post that non-fiction books will not be valid for the challenge and since I have a bunch of those to read, and plan to read them in August, I'm no longer eligible for the official challenge, but I will continue to keep track on my own to see how many I can personally read of any genre.

So, here is my list of books read in August:

  1. Death of a Gentle Lady (Hamish Macbeth #24)
  2. Benny & Shrimp
  3. Death of a Witch (Hamish Macbeth #25)
  4. The Vixen Manual
  5. The Maze Runner
  6. Doing It Right
  7. Winnie-the-Pooh
  8. A Circle of Souls
  9. The Bourne Deception
  10. There's More to Life Than the Corner Office
  11. How to Be a Hepburn in a Hilton World
  12. Dark Matter: The Private Life of Sir Isaac Newton
  13. Awakening Consciousness: A Girl's Guide
  14. The Face
  15. Awakening Consciousness: A Boy's Guide
  16. Now What?
  17. A Bear Called Paddington
  18. The Dangerous Days of Daniel X
  19. Writing as a Sacred Path
  20. Daniel X: Watch the Skies
  21. Smitten: A Kitten's Guide to Happiness
  22. The Weight of Silence
  23. Why Fish Fart
  24. NurtureShock

I cannot, cannot join another challenge and August is beastly busy, but...I am going to use this as an incentive to keep me reading!
