Review: Smitten: A Kitten's Guide to Happiness by Rachael Hale

Ever wished you could be as happy and carefree as a kitten? Smitten: A Kitten's Guide to Happiness will help point the way. Acclaimed photographer Rachael Hale uses her lens, her love of cats, and a great deal of patience, to create an enchanting perspective on how kittens see the world.

This latest collection in her bestselling book series features 60 brand new images of adorable kittens as they frolic, sleep, and explore. The heartwarming and amusing photographs are presented alongside memorable quotations that serve to remind us to remain curious, to revel in playtime, to appreciate fine food and friends, and to never underestimate the power of a good nap.

As with the author's previous books, the photography was brilliant. My favorites were Daisy (page 15), Fantasia (24-25), Achilles & Apollo (39), Dinky, Gemma, and Ruby (148-149), and Frankie (82).

It was nice to read the explanations behind each shot. It was especially fun to read that Matt (kitten) and Smudge (mouse) became friends during the shoot and fell asleep together later.

This one gets eight stars. Who doesn't love kittens? I remember when my furry babies were kittens and they were too cute for words! This adorable book of photography would be a perfect gift for any cat lover.

Thanks for this post-as a converted cat lover I will want this one. You should see the twins in action on my August post Copy Cats: Am I seeing Double?

I posted your award today-sorry for the delay-August quickly ended and then I was whacked with the flu.

I haven't heard of this book before now, thank you for reviewing it! As a many cat owner and new kitten mommy (new to me not new as in newly born) this book looks fabulous. My new fur baby is about 4 months old. We found her stuck in a tree and she has made herself right at home. When we see the vet we'll know how old she is. Kittens are the cutest babies!

Being a huge kitty lover, I fell in love with this cover! What an adorable little furbaby (am always feeding stray kitties that show up, and since they get tons of food, milk and the occasional cat nip or tun, they hang around my place forevver. Oh, I am such a softie lol
